CURA Taster Day 2025
CURA returns to Barton Road to give this year’s CUSBC novices a shot at fullbore shooting.
On a freezing January morning we gathered at Barton Road, with 26 of CUSBC’s most promising novices in tow, for our annual CURA taster day. The morning saw the novices shooting target rifles at 500 meters (and a return of last year’s custom-made 500m plot cards, now with snazzy QR codes for the membership form!), and in the afternoon we fell back to 1000 yards for a few details of match rifle, both prone and the right way round. Many novices put up promising scores which should make O*ford very worried, and we look forward to welcoming our new and returning members to our Easter Bisley training camp in March, where the weather will no doubt be warmer.
Many thanks to our Mike Jenvey for helping out as our RCO, our seniors who proved to be expert butt markers, and our alumni and committee for coaching as well as zeroing, driving and cleaning rifles.
